GIANNIS PEIKIDIS

Ioannis Peikidis has been working since 2003 at the Laboratory of Music Acoustic Technology of the Department of Music Studies. He is the head of the studio of the laboratory.
He teaches a number of courses in the fields of sound recording, music industry, radio broadcast production.
Since 2019, he has been working with the first English-speaking undergraduate course entitled ¨BA Program in the Archaeology, History and Literature of Ancient Greece¨ with duties for ¨Development and management of audiovisual material and social media management for the promotion of the program¨.
He holds a Bachelor of Musicology degree from the University of London (Goldsmiths College) (1994), equivalent to the Greek degree from DIKATSA (2000).
In 1998 he completed his doctoral studies at the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens under Professor H. Χ. The subject was 'Acoustic, Musicological and Informatics Study of the Pontian Lyre'.

His scientific interests include Sound Engineering, Music Technology, Computer Science, Musicology and Ethnomusicology.
His research work includes specialized topics in Applied Music Technology, Computer Science, Musicology and Ethnomusicology, which are related to the ongoing PhD thesis at the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens under Professor Haralambos Ch. Spyridis on 'Acoustic, Musicological and Informatics Study of the Pontian Lyre'.
